Burning ashes are suspected to have ignited a garbage truck fire in marina monday afternoon. The truck’s load began smoking on imjin parkway near Abrams drive. the waste management truck driver attempted to smother the flames by compacting the trash, but the attempt was unsuccessful. The new, eco-friendly truck was left to burn, as firefighters had trouble extinguishing the flames due to the extend of garbage they had as fuel. The 300-thousand dollar vehicle was operational for only 2-days. No injuries were reported.
