Another detective has been appointed to the Santa Cruz Anti-Crime Team by the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office. Now there’s a total of four detectives on the Gang Task Force. The goal of the team is to investigate, identify, and arrest gang members. Since 2012, the gang task force has confiscated 78 firearms from gang members; preventing more crimes from happening.
