Governor Schwarzenegger has announced that the state will distribute 9-point-2-million dollars’ worth of grant money, to help cities around the California combat gang violence. The grants include about 1-point-5-million dollars for cities on the Central Coast. Set to receive over 3-hundred-69-thousand dollars each for gang-prevention are the cities of Salinas, Gonazales, Watsonville, and Hollister. The money is part of the Cal-GRIP program, which was launched in 2007.
