Cabrillo College administrators have already cut or reduced multiple staff and faculty positions, and rolled back services and available classes, but a fourth round of reductions could result in even more cutbacks. Budget talks may result in the elimination of 9 filled positions, and 5 vacant positions, as well as more than 150 teaching units. Those 9 positions are currently filled with classified union employees, spurring accusations from the classified union that administrators are targeting their members specifically. The Cabrillo governing board is scheduled to meet on August 6th to discuss the proposed reductions.
