The non-profit salinas police activities league is once again gearing up for a fundraising effort, to complete a stalled project. The P-A-L had planned to convert armory hall into a youth center, however unexpected costs have drained the league’s coffers. Besides extensive asbestos-removal at the building, several other problems were discovered, including scores of broken windows and plumbing issues. The Police activities league is now seeking to raise another 200-thousand dollars to get the youth center up and running.
