A retired salinas police detective has announced that he is running for mayor of salinas. Joe gunter served for 30-years with the salinas police department, and retired as a homicide detective. Gunter unsuccessfully ran for a salinas city council seat 2-years ago. he currently serves as president of the California international air show, and runs a private detective agency.
