The North Salinas High School coach and political consultant accused of rape was in court yesterday. John Fricas entered a not guilty plea to two counts of rape by use of drugs, two counts of rape of an unconscious person, one count of sodomy of an unconscious person and one count of sodomy by anesthesia or controlled substance. The allegations date back to 2009. A motion to raise Fricas’s bail from 400 thousand to 2 million dollars was denied. Fricas is due back in court on August 21st.
