CZU August Lightning Complex – At least 831 structures have been destroyed by the 83,133 acre CZU August Lightning Complex fire burning in Santa Cruz and San Mateo counties. The wildfire is believed to be at least 27 percent contained. Although some Evacuation Orders connected with this fire have already been lifted, an infrastructure group continues to work on restoring utilities, mitigating tree hazards and opening and repairing roads and bridges. 2105 Fire Personnel are working to get full containment of this conflagration.
All evacuations have been lifted for the 48,732 acre River Fire, that is 73% contained; and the 6,767 acre Carmel Fire which is 78% contained. 30 Structures have been destroyed by the River Fire, and 73 by the Carmel Fire.
There are still evacuations in place for the Dolan Fire, which has burned at least 24,860 acres, and is considered to be at least 20 percent contained. The Dolan Fire is still threatening homes in the areas of Partington Ridge to the north, and Hermitage and Lucia (loo-SEE-ah) to the south. Firefighters hope to have this blaze fully contained by September 16th.
