Chiquita announced this week that roughly 100 jobs at fresh express in Salinas will be eliminated. the affected employees will be offered the chance to relocate to north Carolina, (which is where the jobs are being consolidated). Chiquita bought Salinas-based fresh express in 2005. The realignment is part of Chiquita’s effort to move its headquarters to north Carolina. The transfers will be complete by the end of 2012.
