A public hearing on Verizon’s request to build a 65-foot cell tower at 682 Buena Vista Road in Freedom has been set for 9 a.m. Nov 16 in the Board of Supervisors chamber, 701 Ocean Street, in Santa Cruz.
The proposal calls for a generator and a 132-gallon diesel fuel tank as well as 50-square-foot concrete pad inside an 8-foot enclosure. The project requires approval for a fence taller than county rules allow. At least one neighbor is concerned that the tower, to be situated on a hill, will be an eyesore.
