Free transit rides to and from vaccination appointments are becoming commonplace. Santa Cruz Metro recently joined the list of transit agencies who will offer a free trip aboard their bus service for those going to and from a scheduled vaccination appointment.
Other agencies include Valley Transit Authority of Santa Clara County, Bay Area Rapid Transit otherwise known as BART, and AC Transit which is offering vaccine shuttles.
Transit riders simply need to show their vaccination card or email confirmation of the appointment in order to receive the fare-free ride.
Meanwhile, Monterey Salinas Transit hasn’t been able to offer a similar service due to a lack of mass vaccination sites within their county.
