The santa cruz city council has extended a free parking period in downtown this holiday season. The downtown association had requested the increase, as an incentive for shoppers to head to pacific avenue. free parking is now set to be available from December 10th through the 25th. The extension is expected to cost 28-thousand dollars in revenue. Also at their meeting on Tuesday, city council members approved the designation of a local property as a historical landmark. The home on west cliff drive is 124-years-old. The homeowner plans to make modifications to the property, which will be aided by the “historical landmark” designation.
