A fire that burned a club in Castroville Monday night was caused by a cigarette.
Fire officials say a cigarette left on the floor in an apartment above Franco’s Club was the cause.
Several people were in the club when the fire was reported about 6:30 Monday evening. All were rescued and taken to the hospital.
The damage is estimated at more than eight hundred thousand dollars.
