A series of controlled burns is scheduled to be held in the upcoming weeks on former fort ord. u.s. army personnel are expected to begin the prescribed burns anytime after july 1st, (as the weather allows). After vegetation is cleared, crews will continue looking for, (and destroying), un-exploded munitions in the area.
