A former Santa Cruz police officer has been sentenced for four counts of battery. David Gunter had originally received 365 days of jail time, but 182 of those have been suspended.
He is not allowed to possess alcohol or go to a place where alcohol is present. He also is prohibited from contact the victim or victims and must complete 50 hours of volunteer service and pay a $2,200 fine.
