For the 2nd time, members of local law enforcement agencies have come to the rescue when the same victim’s primary mode of transportation was stolen. The first time the senior citizen’s trike was stolen 2 years ago, both the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Department Association and the Family Cycling Center in Capitola worked together to buy him a replacement. This time, after the trike was stolen Friday from in front of the dollar store on Main Street, Watsonville Police Officers were able to get back enough of the pieces that the folks at Watsonville Cyclery were able to re-build the trike. The trike’s owner, and his family, are working on how to better secure his conveyance than the lock and cable he was most recently using.
