A proposed bill to limit food trucks’ access to schools has been altered. The bill’s author, local assemblyman bill monning, reduced the proposed boundary from 15-hundred feet to 5-hundred feet. That’s how far away mobile food vendors would have to stay from schools, if the bill passes. monning also added exemptions for construction and film crews that might be working within that limit. Vendors would also be able to operate from any private property within the boundary. In both cases, food vendors would still be prohibited from selling snacks and other foods to children under 18.
