A food tracing technology company now has an office in the Salinas Valley. Redwood City-based Harvest Mark’s combination of hardware and software enables the commercial agriculture industry and consumers to trace the origin of food using coding technology. A package code allows consumers to track instantly the geographic origin and the date the produce was harvested. Growers and shippers are also able to track how long it takes their produce to reach retail shelves after it has been harvested.
