Justices with the U.S. Supreme Court have rejected appeals from farmers in California’s Central Valley. The farmers say that especially during drought times they need their water allocations from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. However, the rights of the 3-inch long Delta Smelt, was upheld instead. The little fish was listed as a Threatened Species under the Federal Endangered species Act back in 1993.
