The first flu death of the year in Monterey county has been announced. The Monterey County Health Department says the victim was an adult who was less than 65 years-old. The people at highest risk for severe complications from Influenza include: those people older than 65 or younger than 5, as well as pregnant women…..and those with medical issues such as asthma, heart disease, and weakened immune systems.
