This year some Monterey Bay area Independence Day celebrations and events include:
- In Boulder Creek, There’s a 4th of July Pancake Breakfast, a Parade, a BBQ picnic, and a July 4th Barbecue and Pan For Gold.
- In Felton, a 4th of July Barbecue and Family Event is scheduled to take place at Roaring Camp.
- In Scotts Valley, there will be a 4th of July Parade in the morning, and fireworks in the evening.
- In Santa Cruz there’s the Firecracker 5 and 10 k races and a Kid’s Run, the 4th of July Brunch, a free community swim and barbecue, Fireworks Sailing Cruise, and an Old Fashioned Independence Day and Parade at Wilder Ranch.
- In Pleasure Point, there’s the World’s Shortest Surf Parade
– The Aptos July 4th pancake breakfast, The World’s Shortest Parade, and Party In The Park.
– In Watsonville they’ll have the 4th of July Spirit Of Watsonville Parade in downtown Watsonville, and the Airport open house (called Fire In The Sky)
- In Gilroy there will be a free fireworks show starting at 9:30 p-m at Gilroy High School, while in Morgan Hill the 4th of July Parade is slated to step-off at 10 a-m in downtown Morgan Hill and they plan to have the Morgan Hill Freedom Fest, and Fireworks On The Green starting at 9:30 p-m. at the Outdoor Sports Center.
- In Los Gatos Organizers are set to have the 4th of July Symphony In The Park, starting at 4 p-m in Oak Meadow.
