CENTRAL COAST FIREFIGHTERS HAVE FINALLY RECEIVED WHAT THEY HAVE BEEN WANTING FOR MORE THAN A YEAR. IN AUGUST OF 2011, CARMEL FIREFIGHTERS REQUESTED A MEMORIAL BE PLACED FOR LIVES LOST ON SEPTEMBER 11th, AND TODAY, THE ELEVENTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE TERRIBLE TRAGEDY, THE CITY OF CARMEL WILL GIVE THE PUBLIC A FIRST LOOK AT A PIECE OF STEEL FROM GROUND ZERO IN NEW YORK. IN A MEMORIAL HELD THIS MORNING FIREFIGHTERS WILL CARRY THE STEEL TO DEVENDORF PARK. IN ADDITION, SALINAS FIREFIGHTERS ARE HOLDING ANOTHER CEREMONY AT 10:30 THIS MORNING AT Fire Station #1 on West Alisal. THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS WELL.
