Fire Season 2021 04-27-21 10:57 S.S.

Fire officials already had some serious concerns about this year’s wildfire season, what with water restrictions being put in place in various areas of California because of the limited amount of rain the state has received this rainy season…..and now the investor group that owns the world’s largest firefighting plane says they have shut down its operations. The Global Supertanker is a converted Boeing 747 plane, that can dump more than 19,000 gallons of water (or flame retardant) in just 6 seconds, fly as low as 200 feet above a fire, and can be refilled in just 13 minutes. The Supertanker has helped in many western wildfires, and was also deployed in Israel in 2016, and in Chile in 2017.
