Firefighters were able to put out a blaze off of the Monterey-Salinas Highway today. The blaze, off Highway 68, broke out just before noon on the 300 block of San Benancio Road. It was burning about 100 feet from a ranch house. Firefighters were able to contain that fire to less than one acre.
