(14:22) SANTA CRUZ – A 31 year-old Oakland woman has been sentenced to spend 3 years behind bars for hitting and killing a pedestrian in Santa Cruz. Joanna Steele, who pleaded “no contest” to “felony leaving the scene of an accident”, and “misdemeanor d-u-I” in the case, killed 70 year-old local business owner Adolfo Galvan, in august of 2014. Although she fled the scene of the fatal accident, she was found a few hours later in her local motel room. Steele is scheduled to return to a Santa Cruz County Court Room March 2nd for a restitution hearing.
