The Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, Dr. Anthony Fauci, will receive the William Randolph Hearst Foundation Award for excellence in mass communication during a virtual ceremony next week.
San Jose State University is giving the award to Dr Fauci after public opinion surveys found that he is the medical expert most Americans trust and go to for timely and accurate information during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fauci will receive the award from the faculty of the SJSU School of Journalism and Mass Communication during a virtual ceremony on Nov. 17.
