Fire investigators in San Jose are trying to determine what caused a residential fire this morning(sun) that left an 8-year-old girl dead. More than 50-firefighters responded to the blaze, which broke out at 1:42 a.m., at an apartment on Hamilton Avenue (in West San Jose). As crews battled the flames, a rescue team pulled the girl from the burning apartment, however she died shortly after being taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. The victim was identified as North Carolina resident Adileni Gomez-Macedo. 10-other people suffered minor injuries, including smoke inhalation, and were treated at the scene. The flames were controlled by about 2:10 a.m. 6-families have been displaced by the fire.
