Authorities in salinas have released the identity of the man accused of running over and killing a 1-year-old child on Monday. 24-year-old Armando bautista is accused of being under the influence of alcohol when he backed into the child in a driveway on chico way. The baby girl was taken to natividad medical center, where she was pronounced dead. Bautista fled the scene of the accident; he surrendered about an hour later after hiding in a nearby restaurant. Because he was previously convicted of D-U-I, bautista prosecutors could potentially seek murder charges against him, (as a judge had warned at his previous conviction). Bautista lived in the same house as the family of the child, however he was not related to the victim.
