On Sunday night, the driver of a 2013 VW Golf was speeding down El Rancho Drive, only to run off the road, strike a utility pole, drive up a dirt embankment, strike a tree and overturn.
The passenger, a 28-year-old female, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver, 30-year-old Jesse Vong suffered major injuries. He was transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and was arrested for Felony DUI.
Both individuals are from San Jose.
