A 20-year-old salinas man is expected to face felony D.U.I. charges to go along with felony vehicular manslaughter charges. that, after investigators determined on Tuesday that Christopher pereles was drunk at the time of the sunday accident on echo valley road in salinas. 18-year-old salinas resident leonides Hernandez suffered fatal injuries in the wreck. pereles is believed to have missed a left turn, and skidded off the roadway, before the vehicle struck a tree. He was also believed to have been speeding. Pereles was uninjured in the accident. he was booked into monterey county jail.
