Farr was presented with the Champion of Science award by the Science Coalition, a non-profit organization of research universities. The award recognizes Congress members whose actions reflect a belief that science-research drives innovation that fuels the economy. Farr, who co-chairs Congressional caucuses on topics such as organic agriculture and ocean issues, believes research is critical in helping the U.S. stay at the forefront of discovery in critical areas.
