A plan is underway to streamline the construction of farm worker housing.
Local assemblyman Robert Rivas is authoring assembly bill 1783 called the “farm worker housing act of 20-19” that would set quality standards for construction and put environmental safeguards in place.
Rivas says too many young students in his district are homeless. He says one in five are without shelter and it’s his goal to provide housing for them.
