The Salinas Rodeo Grounds mass vaccination clinic had a large turnout this weekend, with over 3,000 doses administered for those on the frontline of the food and agriculture businesses.
The vaccine supply for this round came from the federal government and ensures to prevent countywide supply shortages.
According to Luis Alejo, a district supervisor of Monterey County who volunteered with the clinic, there was a wait time of over 30 minutes as they worked to inoculate these essential workers.
This clinic was hosted in partnership with the Grower-Shipper Association and Clinca De Salud del Valle de Salinas, and was the second one they hosted.
Those who are eligible to receive the vaccine and wish to do so can visit the website of their preferred pharmacy and book an appointment. Rite Aid, CVS and Walgreens are offering appointments throughout the Monterey and San Francisco Bay Areas.
