Family gatherings going back to Mother’s Day are being blamed for new clusters of COVID-19 cases in Monterey County.
Dr. Edward Moreno, with the Monterey County Health Department, did not specify the number of cases or where in the county they occurred. But he did blame weekend events for the new cases.
Moreno said health officials spoke to patients diagnosed with the virus and discovered they had been in contact with other infected people while meeting in groups.
