A man was taken into custody early this morning, after Highway Patrol officers found a World War II-era explosive device in the car he was driving. Eric Neff was pulled over on Aguatio Road, in Monterey for a traffic violation. C-H-P officers then learned the vehicle he was in had been reported stolen. They then discovered the un-exploded ordinance in the back of the car. A bomb squad from Vandenburg Air Force Base safely disposed of the device, and Neff was arrested.
