KSBW Television reports a major police operation tasking place in Marina as officers search for one of the escaped inmates from the Monterey County Jail.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies say one of the inmates has been spotted but don’t know if he is alone or has weapons.
Santos Fonseca and Jonathan Salazar, both 19, were had been in custody since 2018 on suspicion of murder. They reportedly escaped the county jail through a small hole they had made in a bathroom ceiling.
Fonseca described as being 5’7” and 150lbs. Salazar is 5’7 and 170lbs. Both are Hispanic with black hair and brown eyes. Both have been in custody since 2018.
