a prisoner in santa cruz county jail who escaped custody and led authorities on a 5-hour manhunt last year is set to stand trial. 25 year –old maurice lamont ainsworth faces charges stemming from a NOVEMBER incident, in which he escaped custody while at dominican hospital. ainsworth is accused of ASSAULTING a sheriff’s deputy, holding a preschool teacher at gunpoint, invading a home and holding hostages. ainsworth faces 50 charges, ranging from attempted murder to kidnapping. he is due in court for an ARRAIGNMENT on november 8th.
