Escapee caught, 7 still on run 09/08/11 5p.m. TDH

1-of the juveniles who escaped recently from the Monterey county youth detention center (in salinas), is back in custody.   The escapee was taken into custody at about noon today, in salinas.   Although authorities had released all 8-of the escaped juveniles’ names, they are not naming the person who was caught today, due to juvenile-privacy laws.   That means that 7 of the convicts are still on the loose.  The first escape occurred on august 28th, when 6-people threw chairs at a glass barrier, before scaling the walls of the facility.  Then, on September 2nd, 2-other juveniles escaped custody while on a golfing field- trip.  The circumstances surrounding both incidents are being investigated.   Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the convicts, whose ages range from 15 to 18-years-old, is encouraged to contact Monterey county authorities.
