Santa Cruz County is participating in a project to house all local homeless veterans. The project, called 180/2020, is zeroing in on ending veteran homelessness by December 2015. Phil Kramer, the director of 180/2020 says they give advice to homeless veterans, not direct funding. Santa Cruz county has voted for the Mayors Challenge to End Veteran Homelessness, and officials say the Capitola City Council is soon to follow.
