THE WILDFIRE BURNING WEST OF EMPIRE GRADE ROAD NEAR THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA SANTA CRUZ CAMPUS MONDAY AFTERNOON WAS FULLY CONTAINED BY 3 P.M. FIREFIGHTERS USED AIRCRAFT TO DROP WATER ON THE FIRE WHICH BURNED NEARLY 10 ACRES. WHILE NO STRUCTURES WERE THREATENED, THE SMOKE FROM THE FIRE WAS VISIBLE THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY.
