An emergency drill was conducted by multiple agencies in monterey on Wednesday. The drill on the presidio of monterey involved a scenario in which a chemical bomb failed to explode, leaking gas into the area. students at monterey institute of international studies were asked to “shelter in place” during the exercise, which also involved a hostage rescue simulation at the monterey coast guard station. The monterey county sheriff’s department, u-s coast guard, the army, monterey county health authorities, and several area fire and police departments all participated in the drill.
