Last week, 8,000 people in Santa Cruz county filed for unemployment, and that means that thousands of people are now eligible for cal-fresh (aka snap, or food stamps) benefits. On top of that, the Families First Act, which passed recently, increased the monthly maximum. Additional emergency Coronavirus Relief could further increase the benefit.
