A local scientist will be receiving the 2018 National Wetlands Award For Science Research. Doctor Kerstin Wasson is being recognized for her commitment to the conservation and restoration of our nation’s wetlands. Doctor Wasson is the Research Co-Ordinator for the Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve. The Elkhorn Slough Reserve is one of California’s few remaining coastal wetlands….and the largest tract of tidal salt marsh south of the San Francisco Bay.
