This Friday, the Elkhorn Slough will officially be designated as a Wetland Of International Importance. The celebration of that designation is scheduled to take place at Hester Marsh….which is the site of a 6.5 million dollar, 61-acre tidal wetland project. The Elkhorn Slough will join 38 other wetland sites in the United States….and more than 2330 sites worldwide….in a network of Globally Important Wetlands designated under the world’s oldest international environmental treaty.
