The violations of the California Coastal Act, that took place at the Monterey Bay Shores eco-resort, were swiftly taken care of once the developer was notified. The violations included people driving all-terrain vehicles on the beach near the endangered Western Snowy Plovers…which are a small shorebird that nest on the beach. The resort, which will be designed using the latest smart-building technologies including alternative energy systems, a graywater system, green roofs and living walls, sits on 39 acres, and is expected to include 184 hotel rooms, 92 hotel condominium units, 92 residential condominiums, a spa, 2 restaurants, and conference space.
