A ground breaking event took place yesterday at the historic E. A. Hall Middle School in Watsonville. Officials gathered as preliminary work began on a 3.3 million dollar project to replace the original gym, which dates back to when the school was built in 1938, with a new modern one. The remodeled gym will feature a full-size basketball court, one similar to those at other district middle schools. The existing gym is said to remain and be put to other (as yet) unspecified uses.
