A 4-year old boy playing with matches started a fire that gutted the inside of an East Salinas home yesterday. Multiple fire agencies responded to the 11-hundred block of North Sanborn Road around 4:30 p.m. to find the unoccupied single-story family dwelling fully engulfed in flames. Fire officials say the fire started on the mattress of a bunk bed. A woman escaped with 2 children out a back door, no injuries were reported.
