No drunk drivers were arrested at Friday’s D.U.I. Checkpoint in Salinas. Salinas Police report that 1-driver was suspected of driving under the influence of marijuana, but passed a sobriety evaluation. 2-people were arrested for trying to flee the checkpoint; 1 was driving without a license, the other person had a suspended license, and was in possession of marijuana. The checkpoint was operated from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30p.m., on south main street and chestnut. A total of 1,229 drivers were contacted.
