1-person was detained and cited, after a santa cruz drum circle re-appeared last night on the San Lorenzo River Levee. The drum circle was ordered disbanded several months ago, and multiple confrontations with police officers have occurred. Most of the incidents involved citiations for drug or alcohol use. The informal drum circle reportedly drew about 50-people last night. Police officers broke up the gathering because it was obstructing a path, and the park was closed. Everyone complied, except for 63-year-old Berkley resident James Mattson, who allegedly refused to follow officers’ directions. He was detained, and released with a citation after being taken to county jail.
