DRONES GROUNDED TODAY 01/28/14 1601 S.S.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection grounded its fleet of unmanned aircraft today, after losing one worth 12 million dollars in the Pacific Ocean. The unarmed aircraft reportedly suffered a mechanical failure while on patrol off the California coast. The majority of the aircraft is submerged. The Coast Guard is assisting in recovering any floating pieces.
The agency lost a smaller unmanned aircraft in 2006.
